I just started this fanfic. It's basically from Haley's point of view and will have Naley later. Hope you all enjoy it!
It was just like every other day of high school at Tree Hill High. Haley’s mom would drop her off and she would walk to first period on her own. She barely ever talked to Lucas who was her best friend until he started dating Brooke Davis. All Lucas ever did was worry about Brooke and being a hot shot basketball player. The only time she really talked to him was for a few minutes after school when he stopped by at his mom’s café. Although Haley was working at the time so really it wasn’t much time at all. Haley really missed all the talks she would have with Lucas considering he was the only friend she really had.
The whole rest of the school day was the same she would go to all her classes alone and lunch was even worse. Lucas was always sitting with the basketball players and cheerleaders which left Haley sitting alone. She never really got how Lucas fit right in with the popular crowd. He would always rant about how stupid it was that they thought they were better than everyone else and now he was one of them. Lucas still acted like he did before, but never really talked to some of his friends from before he became part of the ‘in’ crowd.
Haley sat on the bench barely even touching her food. She continued to think about how her life would have been different if Lucas had never accepted his spot on the team. At least she wouldn’t be sitting alone everyday at lunch wondering if he even worried about her.
She sat there thinking about it and started to blank out. Suddenly her thoughts were interrupted by someone walking up to her.
“Hey.” Haley looked up to see Nathan Scott standing in front of her.
Nathan Scott was one of the popular kids and the star basketball player of Tree Hill High. His father, Dan Scott, was the mayor of Tree Hill and also owned the only car dealership in town. So basically Nathan got away with everything and got everything he wanted. In Haley’s mind he was just a spoiled brat who was a jerk to everyone.
Haley: (Confused) Hi. Nathan: I’m Nathan. Haley: What do you think I am stupid? I already knew that. Nathan: Oh. *Clears his throat.* You’re Haley right? Haley: Don’t you mean Tutor Girl? Nathan: Well no, unless you want me to call you that.
Why the hell is this ***hole talking to me? He has always had an easy time pretending I never existed. What’s so different now?
Haley: *Rolls her eyes.* No. Nathan: Okay then. Can I ask you something? Haley: (Annoyed) What? Wait don’t tell me, you need a tutor. Nathan: No. I was going to ask you if you wanted to go on a date with me on Saturday night.
Go on a date!? He hasn’t given a crap about me before and now he wants to go on a date with me? This must be a joke; no way would Nathan Scott ask me out.
All of a sudden her thoughts were interrupted. Nathan: So? Haley: (Realizes she hasn’t answered yet.) Oh…ummm. Go on a date? Are you serious? Nathan: Yeah. Haley: This must be a joke. There is no way you would ask me out unless you and your friends wanted to play a joke on me. And there is no way I will fall for it or ever go out with you. Nathan: No I am serious. Haley: Yeah, sure. Why don’t you just go on back to never talking to me ever and pretending I am never there? Nathan: But… Haley ignores him and walks away.
Nathan walks over to his friends. Tim: So? Did it work? Nathan: No, but I have a feeling it will. Tim: What do you mean? Nathan: You will see.

School was over and Haley was cleaning up the tutor center. She walked out carrying some books and a large stack of papers. She struggled to lock the door while holding the stack of books and paper. Finally she locked it and turned around to walk away and bumped into someone. Papers went flying as Haley fell to the floor books falling on top of her.
Haley: *Grabs the back of her head.* Ow. Nathan: *Bends down.* Are you okay? Haley: *Looks up and realizes it was him.* Oh gosh. I am really sorry. *She starts picking up the books.* Nathan: No, it’s my fault. I should have been watching where I was going. *He starts picking up papers.* Haley: No really it’s okay.
Their hands touch as they reach for the last paper at the same time.
Haley: *Looks at him as he looks into her eyes. She gives him a nervous smile.* Oh uh. Thanks. Nathan: *Smiles* No problem. *They both stand up.* Nathan: Here. *He hands the stack of papers he picked up to her.* Haley: Thanks. Nathan: So…have you thought about my question? Haley: What? Nathan: Our date, will you go out with me on Saturday? Haley: Uhhh… *Thinks for a moment.* Okay. Nathan: *Smiles* Cool. I will pick you up at eight? Haley: *Nods.* Nathan: Bye. Haley: (Quietly) Bye.
She turns away and starts walking towards the front entrance. A small smile forms on her face. Watching her go Nathan smiles and then turns around and walks down the hall to the Boy’s locker room. Haley keeps walking but suddenly stops, her smile slowly fades.
What was I thinking? I know what kind of a guy he is and I know this is probably a practical joke that is being used to embarrass me. Come on Haley, use your head. He is only acting this way to get you to like him. How could I be so stupid? Well I can’t do anything about it now. I will just have to see how the date goes I guess.

Here are the newest chapters. Hope you all enjoy them!
Chapter 2
(In Haley’s room)
Haley was pacing her room frantically trying to figure out what to wear. Her mom walked in seeing the mess of clothes scattered throughout the once spotless room.
Lydia: Haley? Haley: *Pokes her head out from behind her closet door.* Yeah? Lydia: What are you doing? Haley: Trying to figure out what to wear. Lydia: Do you have to impress this boy this much? Haley: Mom, his name is Nathan. And yes I do. Lydia: Haley, if this boy likes you he won’t care what you wear. He would love you for who you are and shouldn’t care about anything else. Yeah well who knows if he actually likes me? Doubt it. But I still have to look nice.
Haley: I know I know. But I want to look my best anyways. It’s my first date too. Lydia: Okay, but hurry up you don’t want to be late for your first date. Haley: Why what time is it? Lydia: It’s 7: 30 already. Haley: (Panicking) Its 7:30! Oh my gosh, I haven’t even figured out what to wear!! Lydia: Remember what I said. Haley: (Distracted and not really paying attention.) Okay mom.
It was now 7:50 and Haley finally was ready for her date. She put on a pair of jeans and a pink lace top. She had curled her hair a little bit earlier and was now just brushing them out. Finally she put on some lip gloss and looked at the clock.
Only ten more minutes, I can do this. Oh I hope nothing bad happens. What if I embarrass myself? Or what if I get stood up and this is really a joke. Oh what am I going to do? I haven’t been on a date before, let alone with a popular guy. Okay, I just got to breathe. Nothing bad will happen I will be just fine.
Just then the door bell rang. Haley ran downstairs as fast as she could to answer the door.
The last thing I need is one of my parents embarrassing me before the date even starts.
She takes a deep breath and then opens the door.
Haley: Hi. Nathan: Hey. Are you ready to go? Haley: Yeah just one second. Let me grab my bag. *She walks down the hall to grab her bag.* Okay.
Haley starts to close the front door.
Haley: (Yelling) Bye mom, bye dad! Nathan: *Laughs* I think they know that you are going on your date. Haley: *Laughs nervously.* Yeah. Nathan: You look really nice. Haley: Thanks.
They walk down to Nathan’s car. He opens the door for her.
Haley: Thanks. So where are we going? Nathan: *Walks over to the passenger side and gets in.* I thought we could go see a movie. Haley: Sounds good, what movie do you want to see? Nathan: You’ll see. I already bought tickets. Haley: Okay.
The ride to the movie theater was quiet besides the radio playing. They finally got to the movies and walked on in.
Nathan: *Hands the tickets to the usher.* Want anything? Haley: Umm I don’t care. Nathan: Popcorn it is. Haley: Okay.
They bought some popcorn and headed to the theater.
Haley: The Exorcist? Isn’t that a scary movie? Nathan: Yeah. Why are you scared? Haley: (Nervously) No… Nathan: Okay, don’t worry I’ll be there. Haley: *Laughs.*
Ah I hate scary movies! They give me the creeps. Hopefully this one isn’t too scary. I mean they are fake. They aren’t real or anything.
Haley: *Screams* OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT? Nathan: *Laughs* Oh that? That was nothing. Wait until the end. Haley: (Nervously) Oh goodie. Nathan: It isn’t that scary… Haley: Yeah.
Haley cringed when every scary scene came. She tried not to freak out too bad, until one of the final scenes where she screamed really loud and the popcorn went flying. After that she slumped down in her chair embarrassed. The end finally came and Haley grabbed onto Nathan instead. Haley: *Realizing what she just did.* Oh…sorry. Nathan: It’s okay. Haley: *Laughs nervously.* I think I am going to go to the bathroom. I will meet you outside afterwards. Nathan: Okay.
Haley practically ran out of the theater to the bathroom. She noticed that no one was inside since most of the movies weren’t over yet.
Haley: Oh my god. I am such a dork! That pep talk to myself before it started didn’t help obviously. Why the heck did he have to pick a scary movie? Ah I don’t think I embarrassed myself that much. But what if is sitting there laughing at what happened. Shoot, well I will know once the dates over. If he ignores me I will just pretend like nothing happened. It will be okay. Just don’t let there be second date. Especially not one with another scary movie!
Haley washed her hands and walked out. She found Nathan waiting for her outside.
Haley: Hey. Nathan: Hey. It’s not too late. It’s only 10: 30. Do you want to go for a walk? Haley: Sure. Nathan: So did you like the movie? Haley: *Laughs* No. Nathan: You didn’t? Haley: Not really. I don’t like scary movies. Nathan: Oh yeah. Sorry about that. Haley: It’s okay. Nathan: Are you having a good time at least? Haley: Yeah…besides me embarrassing myself in the theater. It has been a great date. Nathan: Good. Haley: What about you? Nathan: Yeah. Truth be told I was kind of nervous. Haley: You were nervous? Haven’t you dated before? Nathan: Yea, but I have never dated anyone like you. You are different than those other girls at school. Haley: Well I must confess that I was just as nervous as you. Nathan: You were? Haley: Yeah, I have never dated before. And I never thought I would date a guy like you. I thought I would never date at all actually. Nathan: Why? Because I am popular? Haley: Yeah I guess. I am one of those kids who no one ever notices and you are the one who everyone knows and wants to be friends with. Nathan: Well I am not like that. I mean I may act like a jerk, but I don’t want to. Haley: Really?
Oops…
Nathan: No, I guess I just act like that to fit in. I know it’s wrong, but they are the only friends I have got. Haley: Well you don’t have to act like them to be friends with them. If you think it’s wrong then don’t do it. You don’t have to be mean to others just to fit in. They should like you because of who you are. Nathan: Yeah I guess you are right. It’s getting kind of late maybe we should head back. I don’t want your parents to be mad if you get home too late.
Already? I was just starting to enjoy it; he was actually opening up to me. Well there is always the second date if there will be one…
Haley: Yeah you’re right.
The drive home was pretty quiet again besides some small talk and the radio playing in the back ground. They finally pulled up to Haley’s house around 11:25.
Haley: Thanks, I really did have a great time. Nathan: I am glad you did. Would you….would you go on another date with me?
Yes! I didn’t think he would ask. Maybe I really didn’t embarrass myself as bad as I thought.
Haley: *Smiles.* Yeah. I would really like that. Nathan: *Smiles back* Okay, see you at school then. Haley: Yeah. *She turned to go inside, but paused for a second.*
Should I? Ah what the heck!
Haley: *Turned back to Nathan and stood on her tip toes and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.* Thanks again. Nathan: *Smiles* No problem. *He turned and walked to his car.* Haley: *Went inside and shut the door behind her. She sighed and smiled and went upstairs.* Lydia: Hey Haley-bob. How did it go? Haley: It was great. *She walked into her room and laid on her bed thinking about the date. She soon fell asleep.*
Chapter 3
It was finally Monday and Haley got up for school perkier than ever. All weekend she continued to think about the date, the good and the bad. But the dated ended very well so she was happy. She just wondered if Nathan would act any different at school. She would just have to find out.
Lydia James dropped off her daughter at school and drove off for work. Haley walked into the school still thinking about that kiss from Saturday night. She wouldn’t think she would have had the guts to do it. She looked up and saw Nathan walking towards her with his friends. She smiled; he smiled back and kept on walking.
I guess things won’t be different at school. I guess that talk I had with him didn’t help any. Oh well…there always is that second date later.
Haley opened her locker to put her books away and take out the books she needed. When she opened the locker door a piece of paper fell out onto the floor. She picked it up and read it.
“Hey, meet me at the back of the school during lunch.”
Is this from Nathan? Or Lucas? I guess I will see later. Oh I hope it’s from Nathan!
It seemed as if time was moving slowly just to annoy Haley. Her English class seemed to go on forever as if it wouldn’t end. Finally the lunch bell rang. Haley practically ran out the door down the hall to her locker. She rushed to get her books as fast as she could then she went to the back of the school. She tried not to look too excited but she couldn’t hide it. She couldn’t see anyone at the back. Suddenly she heard someone walk up behind her. She turned around to see Nathan smiling down at her.
Haley: *Smiling* Hey! Nathan: Hey, I see you got my note. Haley: Yeah. Nathan: I was wondering if you wanted to go get something to eat. Haley: Sure.
They walked to the school parking lot and left in Nathan’s car.
Nathan: You know I couldn’t stop thinking about our date Saturday. Haley: Really? Me either. Nathan: I really had a great time with you. Haley: Me too. Nathan: Soo…what do you want to eat? Haley: I don’t really care what if we just go grab something at Mac Donald’s. Nathan: Okay.
They went and got something to eat at Mac Donald’s and drove down to the docks where they ate their lunches quickly.
Haley: I like it out here by the docks. I have always wondered what was out there. I have never left Tree Hill. Nathan: Never? Haley: No. Nathan: I should take you to Cape Cod in Massachusetts sometime. It’s really amazing out there. Haley: What about school? Nathan: We can go once school is out. We have a few more months left. Haley: *Smiles* I would like that. Nathan: Yeah me too. Haley: Promise? Nathan: Promise what? Haley: That we can go together to Cape Cod this summer? Nathan: Yeah, I promise. Haley: Good. Now let’s get back to school it’s getting late. Nathan: Yeah.
They drove back to school talking about different things such as school and just life in general.
Haley: Thanks for lunch. Nathan: (Sarcastically) Oh yea it was so wonderful. Haley: *Playfully punches him in the arm.* Hey it was still nice of you to buy me lunch. Nathan: *Laughs* Yeah I guess. (Sarcastically) Mac Donald’s is just so great! Haley: *Laughs.* Well see you around? Nathan: Yeah, what about after school? Haley: I have tutoring, but after that sure. Nathan: Cool, I will wait for you. Haley: Okay.
Nathan couldn’t help but feel that he was actually falling for Haley. He hadn’t known her that wrong but something about her just turned him on.
I definitely can’t mention that to anyone. They would probably just think I am joking. I just can’t help it; something about her is just different. She isn’t like any of the other girl’s like Peyton.
Haley waited very impatiently again for school to end. She couldn’t help but feel attracted to Nathan. He was just so different around her. Not like the guy she thought he was. She wondered if he felt the same way.
Finally school ended and Haley went to her locker to get her books and then she headed off to the Tutor center. Two hours later she finally finished up with her last student and she cleaned up the tutor center and locked it up. She turned around to see Nathan smiling at her as he leaned against the lockers across the hall.
Haley: Hey. *Smiling back.* Nathan: I told you I would wait for you. Haley: Yeah. Nathan: So what do you want to do? Haley: I don’t know. Nathan: I have an idea, come on. Haley: What? Nathan: You’ll see.
They drove down to the beach and walked down to the shore line.
Nathan: Come on. Haley: What are you doing? Nathan: What does it look like? I’m taking off my shoes. Haley: Okay. *She takes off her shoes as well.* Nathan: *Grabs her hand.* let’s go! Haley: What are we doing? (Confused.)
Nathan ran with Haley being dragged behind him and they jumped into the wave that was coming.
Haley: *Let out a scream* It’s cold!! Nathan: So. *He splashed her.* Haley: Hey! *She splashed him back.*
They splashed each other laughing the whole time until they were completely soaked. Nathan took her hand and they walked along the beach still laughing.
Haley: *Laughs* That was great. Nathan: *Still laughing too.* Yeah. Haley: So… Nathan: So how did you think of me before? I have always wondered. Haley: Well only if you tell me the same thing. Nathan: Umm sure. Haley: Well I guess I just thought you were a spoiled brat who thought he was better than everyone and someone who wouldn’t give me the light of day. Nathan: Are you serious? Haley: Yeah. Look at how you treat our classmates, you trip them for fun and play jokes on them. Nathan: Oh yea. I guess you’re right. Haley: So what about me? Nathan: Uh…I thought you were just quiet and shy. I always thought you were different though just by the way you were. I knew you weren’t like any of the other girls, but now I can see why. Haley: What do you mean? Nathan: Well you’re smart, funny, pretty, and real. Haley: Thanks. Nathan: No problem. You know I have been thinking about what you said. Haley: About what? Nathan: About how I act around my friends at school. I think you’re right. I always knew that what I did to the kids at school was wrong, but never had the will to stop. Haley: Well now you can. Nathan: Yeah I guess. Haley: So what do you see in your friends any way? Nathan: Well they are fun to hang out with, plus it does have it’s perks. You aren’t picked on and you get to go to all the awesome parties. Haley: Parties? They are that important? Nathan: Yeah. Haven’t you been to one? Haley: No and I never will go to one. Nathan: Why? Haley: All people do is go to get drunk. Nathan: Yeah they do. But come on, go with me to Brooke’s party. Haley: I don’t know. Nathan: Come on it will be fun. Haley: I guess. But you know I can’t stay too late. Nathan: Yeah. I will take you home whenever you want. Haley: Okay. Nathan: It’s getting kind of late. We should head back. Haley: Yeah.
They drive back to Haley’s house and Nathan drops her off.
Haley: Thanks, that was fun. Nathan: Yeah. See you at school tomorrow. Haley: Yeah. Bye. Nathan: Bye. *He drives off.*
Haley walks into her house.
Lydia: What happened to you? Haley: *Looks down at her clothes.* Oh I was down at the beach. Lydia: That’s where you have been all afternoon? Haley: Yeah. Lydia: With that Nathan boy? Haley: Yeah…why? Lydia: Just wondering. Haley: Okay. I have to finish some homework. Lydia: Okay dinner is almost ready. Haley: *Running upstairs.* Okay mom.
Chapter 4
It was now Friday and Haley was trying to concentrate in class, but she always seemed to drift off. She was always thinking about Nathan and all the times they spent together during the week. Their official second date was finally coming. Just a few more hours, but she could hardly wait. She had already bought something to wear and she was so excited about it. She barely talked to Nathan at school except when they would meet after school and go somewhere. But she was even more excited about their second date. Nathan hadn’t told her anything about it besides that she should dress nice.
Ahh why won’t he say anything? He just loves leaving me hanging. Hopefully nothing goes wrong tonight. That would just really suck. Aww two hours until school is out! I am starting to think time goes slow on purpose just to piss me off.
_____________________________________________________
School finally ended and Haley rushed outside. Nathan had been driving her home for the last few days. So she was trying to find him in the parking lot. She finally found him talking to his friends in front of the school. She decided to wait for him by his car.
_____________________________________________________
Brooke: Oh my god, look at her. It’s pathetic. She actually thinks he likes her. Peyton: (Agrees) I didn’t think he would do it for this long. Brooke: Me either. Let’s go have some fun. Shall we? Peyton: Lets… *They walk over to where Haley is waiting for Nathan.* Brooke: Um Tutor girl what are you doing? Haley: Oh nothing… Peyton: Doesn’t look like nothing. Looks like you’re waiting for someone. Haley: Maybe I am. Brooke: And just who would that be? Haley: None of your business. Peyton: Oh I think it is. Haley: Well I don’t think so. Brooke: Don’t tell me you’re waiting for Nathan. Haley: *Swallows hard.* Umm… (Pausing) Peyton: You are, aren’t you? Haley: Yeah, so. Brooke: You actually think he likes you? Haley: Yeah, maybe I do. Peyton: You do know he doesn’t right? Haley: (Not sure what to say.) Brooke: Sweetie, let me break it to you easily. He doesn’t like you. He is doing this all as a joke. Haley: (Hurt.) Uhh…*She can’t utter any words at the moment.* Peyton: Why don’t you just go off and cry. You know it’s true. Haley: *Eyes tearing up.* Brooke: Well go… Haley: *Crying, she runs off out of the parking lot.* Brooke: How pathetic. Peyton: No kidding. Brooke: Well now that that’s over. Peyton: Yeah, let’s go. *Just then Nathan walks up.* Nathan: Have you seen Haley? Brooke: Yeah. Why? Nathan: I am supposed to drive her home. Peyton: Aww how cute. You know you don’t have to act. Nathan: But I… Brooke: *Cuts him off.* She ran off that way. After we told her this was all a joke. Nathan: You told her?! Peyton: Yeah. I thought you told her. But I guess not. Nathan: No. I gotta go. Brooke: Where? Nathan: Move. Brooke: What? Nathan: Move. I need to get out of here! Brooke: Fine. *She leaves with Peyton.*
____________________________________________________
Haley was running down the street to her house with tears streaming down her face.
How could I have been so stupid! I knew it was a joke! I shouldn’t have gone on that date at all. I just hope he never talks to me again!
Just then Nathan pulled his car up behind her and got out as fast as he could.
Nathan: Haley wait! Haley: No! Leave me alone! *She tried running faster.* Nathan: No Haley you don’t understand! Haley: I understand perfectly! I knew it was true. I just couldn’t accept it. Nathan: No! Listen to me! *He grabs Haley by the shoulder and pulls her to him his hands firmly on each shoulder.* They are just pregnant doges. It isn’t true. I really do like you. You know deep down that I do. Please I don’t want to ruin it now. Haley: *Still crying.* But the way they said it I know it’s true. Nathan: Do you believe me or them? Do you think I would lie to you? You mean everything to me. I wouldn’t do that to you. Haley: *Slowly starts to stop crying.* Really? Nathan: Yes. Please believe me. I was really looking forward to tonight. Haley: Okay. *Wiping tears away.* Nathan: *Hugs her.* So you still want to go tonight? Haley: *Trying to smile* Yes. Nathan: Okay, do you still want me to drive you home? Haley: No, it’s only a few blocks away. Nathan: Okay, see you tonight. *He kisses her on the forehead.* Haley: *Smiles at him after he looks back before he drives off.*
I guess I should believe him. I mean, after all this time he would lie to me? I guess I will just go home and get ready.
_____________________________________________________
It was now half an hour before their date. Haley was just adding the finishing touches to her make up now. She wore a wine colored empire waist dress. She found a pin with wine colored jewels to match and she pulled some hair out of her face and pinned it in the back leaving most of her hair down. She then put on some black strappy heels and lip gloss to finish the look. With twenty minutes to kill she went to find some lyrics to a song she was working on. She then got her guitar and started playing her song, Don’t Walk Away.
I could never leave you Even you if you asked me to I could never say goodbye And make you cry
I could never stumble With you walkin by my side I could never love you More than I already do
So don't walk away Don't walk away Don't lie, tell me that you’re gonna stay Please don't walk away
If I made a promise I would stay by your side Its only the beginning I love you
So don't walk away Don't walk away Don't lie, tell me that you’re gonna stay Please don't walk away Please don’t walk away
When all the road is dark and dreary When all my nature does not sway This disposition must be washed away forever So please don't walk away Please don't walk away Please don’t walk away
But I could never leave you Even if you asked me to No, I could never say goodbye Or make you cry
Ohhhhh ::fade::
Just as she was finishing up Nathan was walking up to her house. He heard her angelic voice singing her song. He smiled as he thought about her once again. He would soon be on his date with her in a few minutes. He walked up to the door and rang the door bell.
Oh! He’s here!
She ran downstairs as fast as she could trying not to trip or break her heels. She opened the door to find Nathan standing there holding flowers.
Nathan: *Taking one look at her and stumbling with words.* Uhh…hi. You…you look really nice tonight. Haley: *Smiles.* Thanks. Nathan: Oh. These are for you. Haley: They are beautiful! Let me go put them in a vase. Come on in for a second we can leave afterwards. Nathan: Okay. *He steps inside.* Haley: Be right back. *She walks away and disappears down the hallway into the kitchen.*
Nathan stood in the entry way looking at the pictures on the wall. He smiled as he saw all the pictures of Haley. One was of her making goofy faces with her sister, Taylor. Others were family pictures from different holidays. Haley walked up and saw him looking at the pictures.
Haley: Are you ready? Nathan: Oh. Yeah. Haley: Okay. *They walked out to his car and drove off.* Haley: I am guessing you won’t tell me where we are going? Nathan: Nope. Haley: Okay. Nathan: Trust me you will like it. No scary movies tonight. Haley: *Laughs.* Okay. Well I am sure any place you pick will be great.
They laughed and talked about different childhood experiences they had after Nathan brought up the pictures he saw. Soon they pulled up to a fancy restaurant called Le Charmer s'Est Augmenté.
Haley: Isn’t this place supposed to expensive? Nathan: Yeah. Haley: Oh yeah. I forgot. You didn’t have to take me to a place like this though. Nathan: Well I wanted to. I thought you would like it. Haley: I really do appreciate it. *They walked in.* Nathan: Scott. Haley: This place is amazing. Nathan: Yeah. My parents make me come here all the time with them. Haley: I probably couldn’t afford a single thing here. Nathan: Well don’t worry about that because I am paying for it. *The waiter seated them at a table outside that over looked the ocean.* Haley: It’s beautiful. Nathan: Yeah. It is. *A waiter comes and asks if they are ready to order.* Nathan: Yeah. Go ahead Haley. Haley: Umm….some macaroni and cheese. Nathan: (Playfully) Macaroni and cheese? I take you to a nice restaurant and you get macaroni and cheese? “Haley: Dude, macaroni and cheese is food of the gods. Nathan: Yeah, if the gods are five year olds.” Haley: *Laughs* Nathan: What the hell make it two. Haley: You’re going to get it too? Nathan: Yeah, why you don’t want me to? Haley: No no. Go ahead… Nathan: Okay then.
Their date went well the rest of the night. They talked about school, and more about themselves. They got some chocolate cake with raspberry sauce drizzled over it for dessert and split it. Nathan then took Haley home.
Haley: I had a really amazing time tonight. Nathan: Me too. Haley: Thanks. Nathan: No problem. *Haley looked up into his eyes. This time they both leaned in a kissed.* Haley: *Pulls away smiling.* Good night. Nathan: Night. *Haley walked into her house and closed the door. She bit her lip smiling thinking about what had just happened. Nathan stood on the other side of the door smiling. He walked back to his car thinking about the same thing and drove off.*
Haley: Wow! (That was all she could say.)
She walked up to her bedroom and went to bed.
The part with the "" around it is the actual lines they said in The Search For Something More episode. I got the lines from the transcripts found at www.twiztv.com/scripts/onetreehill.

Chapter 5
It was now two weeks after Haley and Nathan’s second date. They hadn’t had time to go on dates, but they were always with each other after school. Now that it was Friday they were going to Brooke’s summer party that was at Nathan’s beach house. Haley met up with Nathan after school. They were going to go down to the beach again and take a walk before they left to get ready for the party.
Haley: Hey! *Smiling excitedly as Nathan walked up to her after school.* Nathan: *Smiling back.* Hey. Haley: So are you excited about tonight? Nathan: Yeah. What about you? Haley: Yeah I guess. I haven’t been to parties though. Nathan: Don’t worry you will have a fun time. Haley: Yeah. I hope so. Nathan: You still want to go to the beach? Haley: Yeah. Nathan: Okay let’s go. *They got into his car and drove off to the beach.* Haley: So how is that problem with your Dad coming along? Nathan: Well my mom couldn’t take it any more so she left. I don’t even know where she went. Haley: She did?! How did you dad react? Nathan: He got really pissed. He swears he will find her. Haley: That doesn’t sound too good. Nathan: No. Haley: What about getting emancipated like I said? Nathan: Yeah I thought about it. But now that my mom left that isn’t such a good idea. Haley: Yeah. Well we can figure something out. Nathan: I hope so.
___________________________________________________
Brooke: Hey P. Sawyer. Ready for the party tonight? Peyton: Hell yes! Brooke: This is going to be the best party this year. Peyton: Yeah. So have you heard about Nathan? Brooke: No. What’s wrong? Peyton: I was just wondering if he ever broke it to Haley that this is all a joke. Brooke: Why wouldn’t he? I can’t see why he would date her anyways. Peyton: Neither can I. I mean they are so different. Haley is a loner and he’s part of the in crowd. Brooke: There isn’t a reason for him to keep this going. I say we finish this tonight. Peyton: Good idea. Wait until Nathan is pretty drunk though. He won’t give a crap then. He would be too drunk to notice too. Brooke: Yeah. I say we make sure she knows it this time too. Nathan just lied to make it seem like we were lying. Peyton: How do we make her see anyways? Brooke: I think I have some thing in mind. Peyton: What’s that? Brooke: *Whispers her plan to Peyton considering they don’t want any one to know.* Peyton: That’s good… Brooke: I know. Peyton: Let’s get ready for this party! Brooke: Yes! Let’s go to my house to get ready. *They drove off in Brooke’s car to her house.*
___________________________________________________
(Back at the beach…)
Haley: So why did Brooke and Peyton tell me this was a joke? Just to be the pregnant doges that they are? Nathan: *Tensed up at the question.* Yeah. Basically… Haley: What’s wrong? Nathan: Nothing. I just don’t see why they had to do that. Haley: Because they don’t like me? Nathan: Umm… Haley: What’s wrong? You are being kind of quiet. Nathan: Nothing. Nothing at all. Let’s just forget that happened. Haley: Okay… Nathan: I think we should head back. The party starts in an hour. Haley: Okay. *Nathan drives Haley back to her house to get ready. He drives off to his house to get ready as well before he comes back to pick her up.*
(In Haley’s room)
Haley: What to wear? Hmmm…maybe this. *She takes a halter top out of her closet.* I don’t want to look too conservative compared to the other girls. Let’s just hope this is okay. *She then found a cute jean skirt she had just bought a few days ago.*
She brushed out her curls to get any knots out of her hair. Then she put on a little bit of eye shadow and some lip gloss. She only had twenty more minutes left.
Haley: I guess I will just play some music again while I wait.
Haley sat there writing more to her song that she had just started, Songs in my Pockets. She played it numerous times until she knew she had the words and everything right. Just as she played it the last time Nathan pulled up in his car. He stood outside and listened to her play as her voice drifted outside through her window. He couldn’t believe how amazing she was, she never mentioned to him that she liked to play music let alone sing it.
Honey I just can't get around it anymore You make me feel like home is where you are And baby I just can't run around it every morn’n It’s time that I believe it, home is where you are
Notes in my drawers, songs in my pockets, Fragments of letters that you sent, Leftover phone calls, cologne in the bath I still have that bottle of Rosé
Staring at your photograph, tryin’ to take it down There’s still a stirring in my heart
And honey I just can't get around it anymore You make me feel like home is where you are And baby I just can't run around it every morn’n It’s time that I believe it, home is where you are
I’ve never been to half of these places But your postcard collection makes me crave A little space, a little ways out of the city to the grace of another land, another tongue, another time
Staring at your photograph, I can’t take it down There’s still a fire in me yet
Honey I just can't get around it anymore You make me feel like home is where you are And baby I just can't run around it every morn’n It’s time that I believe it, home is where you are
Oh honey I just can't get around it anymore You make me feel like home is where you are Baby I just can't run around it every morn’n It’s time that I believe it, home is where you are
Honey I just can't You better believe, yeah
Nathan sat there taking in the moment. He then walked up and knocked on the door. Haley ran downstairs as fast as she could. She then left with Nathan to go down to his beach house. The ride down to his parent’s beach house was filled with talking about funny stories and fun times they have had before. They finally drove up to the beach house.
Nathan: Hales, go on in I have to do something real quick. Haley: Oh…okay. *Haley walked into the house that was full of people talking and dancing to the music that was blasting from the speakers. Haley caught sight of Lucas and decided to go say hi considering they hadn’t talked in a while.* Haley: Hey. Brooke: Well well well, look who it is. It’s Tutor girl. Lucas: (To Brooke) Her name is Haley. Hey. Brooke: I know… *Takes another sip of her drink.* Haley: How have you been? Lucas: I am fine what about you? Haley: Life has been great actually. So what have you been up to lately? Lucas: Just basketball really, the usual. What about you? Haley: *Bit her lip.* Yeah the usual…
She knew that Lucas didn’t like Nathan at all considering their past, but she just couldn’t help but have feelings for him. And she knew if she told Lucas that he would be very mad about it. She thought it would be best to keep it a secret for a while.
Lucas: Why are you here anyways Hales? You said you didn’t like any parties like these. Haley: Oh um…just thought I would give it a chance since I haven’t been to one. Can’t say you don’t like something unless you try. Lucas: Yeah…I guess. Haley: Umm…I will be right back I have to use the restroom. Lucas: Okay. See you later. Haley: Yeah.
Haley walked out to the front of the house where the stairs were to make it look like she was going upstairs at least. She then found Nathan walking up onto the porch.
Haley: Hey. Nathan: Hey. Where were you? I walked in and couldn’t find you. Haley: Oh I saw Lucas I just went to say hi. Nathan: Okay. So do you want anything to drink? Haley: Umm just some water would be fine. Nathan: Okay. I’ll be right back. Haley: Okay. *Nathan left to get some drinks for him and Haley. Haley went and sat down on the couch to wait for him. He came back a few minutes later with some drinks.* Haley: Thanks. Nathan: So how do you like the party so far? Haley: It’s okay. It’s not what I made it out to be, but its fine. Nathan: Yeah well the party just got started. Haley: Why? What happens later? Nathan: People just get crazy after they get drunk. Haley: Oh that’s good to know. Nathan: Don’t worry about it. Haley: Okay. So what do you usually do at parties? Nathan: I just have a few drinks and talk to people. I don’t really get involved in all the craziness. Haley: Oh well that’s good. So… *Just then Tim and some of Nathan’s other friends walked over and started talking to Nathan.* Nathan: Hey. *He looked over to Haley who looked a little uncomfortable.* Haley mouthed to him; I’m going to go to the bathroom. Nathan: *Nodded.* Tim: So how’s it going? Nathan: What? Tim: You and that girl. Nathan: Oh yea it’s okay. Tim: When are you going to break it to her anyways? Nathan: Break it to her? Tim: Yeah that this is all a joke. Nathan: Oh umm…not sure. Tim: Well you don’t want her to get too into it. Nathan: Yeah…
___________________________________________________
Haley walked up the stairs and into one of the bed rooms. She found one that had a bathroom as well so she went in and closed the door.
This is nuts. I have no idea why I even came. I knew Nathan would start talking to his friends and not be able to talk to me at all. I should just go. I won’t be able to enjoy myself anyways. But I can’t ask Nathan to take me now we just got here. I will just wait a while I guess up here in the room.
She walked into the bathroom and freshened up. Just fiddled with her hair and put on some more lip gloss. She went and sat on the bed unsure what to do. She found a photo album in the night stand next to the bed. She flipped through it. She found pictures of Nathan and his parents on vacations from places she couldn’t even name. They looked so happy together. Now his whole family was falling apart. His mom had left and his father wasn’t that great of a father at all. Nathan just wanted to get away from it all but had no idea how. She saw school pictures of Nathan and basketball photos. She smiled as she saw him making goofy faces with his mom. Most of the pictures were only of his mom; his father must have taken the pictures. She set the photo album on the nightstand after she had seen all the pictures. Just then she heard someone open the door.
Haley: Who’s there? Guy: Who are you? Haley: Marcus? Marcus: Yeah how did you know? Haley: I tutored you before. Marcus: Oh you’re tutor girl. Haley: Yeah… Marcus: What are you doing here? This doesn’t seem like a place you would want to be at. Haley: Well it isn’t. Someone told me it would be fun it just isn’t really. Marcus: Well did you drink at all? Haley: No, never. Marcus: Goody goody. Haley: Excuse me? Marcus: Well from some things I have heard I don’t think you’re too much of a goody goody now. Haley: What things? Marcus: A lot of things like how you lost your virginity to Nathan and you’re pregnant now. Haley: What?! Those aren’t true! Marcus: Well they sure must be since Nathan told everyone. Haley: He…he did? Marcus: Yeah. Haley: But none of that is true. Marcus: Well you sure didn’t seem like the very *friendly* personty type to me, but I guess I was wrong. Haley: I am not a very *friendly* person! Marcus: Well that’s not what everyone else says. Haley: Those are lies those rumors aren’t true! Marcus: Well that’s high school for you. Haley: I can’t believe this…I have to go. Marcus: So soon? The party has just started! *He grabs Haley by the arm.* Haley: What are you doing?! Get your hands off of me!! Marcus: You sure gave in for Nathan. Haley: No I didn’t!! Let go of me!! Marcus: *Starts to kiss her even though she is struggling as hard as she can to get him off of her.* Haley: *Screams* Get away from me!!
Just then Jake Jaglieski was walking up the stairs.
Jake was the all around nice guy. He hung out with the “in” crowd but never took part in any of the pranks on other kids. Everyone wondered why he even hung out with the other popular kids. Everyone just thought it was because he was a basketball player. But he always seemed to be away whenever there were parties or any type of gathering. No one knew where he went after school.
Jake heard Haley’s screams and tried opening the door that was now locked. Haley’s screams were then even louder. He finally got the door open and came over and got Marcus away from Haley. Haley couldn’t say anything for a while.
Jake: Get out of here Marcus! *Marcus walked out of the room probably going to get more drinks.* Jake: Are you okay Haley? Haley: (Shocked at what had just happened.) Yeah…thanks. Jake: Are you sure? Haley: Yeah. I think I am just going to go home. Jake: Okay. Do you need a ride? Haley: No I don’t think so. Thanks again. *Haley rushed out of the room almost on the verge of tears.*
She ran down the stairs only to find Nathan still talking to his friends. She stopped and looked over at him as he turned around and saw her. The smile faded from his face as he saw her. He started to walk over but she just shook her head. She couldn’t bare to talk to him. She didn’t know that all the things Marcus had said were part of Brooke and Peyton’s plan, but she believed what Marcus had said. She ran out the door down onto the board walk.
Nathan: Haley wait! What happened? Haley: *Crying.* How could you?! Nathan: What? What are you talking about? Haley: You told everyone that we had slept together! I can’t believe you would make up lies like that!! Nathan: What?! No I didn’t! Haley: Yeah sure. I should have known better. Nathan: No Haley. Please it isn’t true! Haley: How am I supposed to know that! Nathan: Because…you know I wouldn’t do something like that! Besides Marcus was drunk he probably made the whole thing up. Haley: I…I want to go home. Nathan: Okay. Let’s go. Haley: No. On my own. Nathan: But you don’t have any way home. Haley: I can find a way. Just leave me alone. *Haley walked off back to the house.*
___________________________________________________
*Brooke and Peyton are laughing.* Brooke: Did you see her face? Peyton: Yeah. I can’t believe it worked. Brooke: I know. She actually believed that he liked her. It’s so pathetic. Peyton: Yeah I know. Lucas: *Walks up to them.* What’s so funny? Brooke: Oh nothing. Lucas: It’s something obviously. Peyton: No, we were just talking about something Tim did. I think he drank too much already. Lucas: It was that funny? Brooke: Yeah. Lucas: Okay.
___________________________________________________
Haley: *Walked up to the front door just as Jake was walking out.* Jake: Hey. Are you sure you don’t need a ride. I know you came with Nathan and I doubt he would want to leave now. Haley: Yeah. I think I will need a ride. Jake: Okay. Come on. Haley: Thanks Jake. Jake: No problem.
___________________________________________________
The ride to Haley’s house was rather quiet considering what had just happened. Jake tried to get Haley to talk but she was too overwhelmed by what was going on. They soon pulled up to Haley’s house.
Jake: I’m sorry about Marcus and Nathan. Haley: Thanks. But it’s not your fault. Jake: I know. But I feel bad about it. I don’t see how guys can be like that. Haley: Yeah. I should have known better though. Talking to Nathan and going to that party. Jake: It’s not your fault, you didn’t know. Haley: Yeah. Thanks again Jake. I don’t know what I would have done without you. Jake: No problem. Night Haley. Haley: Good night Jake.
Haley walked up to her front door as Jake drove away. She couldn’t bare to see her parents at the moment so she just went upstairs to her room. She laid on her bed and soon fell asleep.

Here is my next chapter I hope you all enjoy it!
Chapter 6
Haley woke up early Saturday morning to an odd sound. She looked out her window to see Nathan tossing rocks at her window. Haley rolled her eyes and groaned. She walked down stairs and opened the door. Nathan soon noticed and walked over to the front porch.
Haley: (Annoyed) What do you want? Nathan: We have to talk about last night. Haley: I don’t want to talk about it. Besides I have already up my mind. Nathan: But none of it was true. I haven’t said a thing to anyone about us. Haley: How am I supposed to know you aren’t lying? Nathan: You just have to trust me on this. Haley: Trust you!? How am I supposed to trust you! Nathan: You know I wouldn’t do anything to hurt you Haley. Please believe me! Haley: I don’t know if I can ever again. Nathan: Hales please you know me and I wouldn’t lie about anything like that. Haley: Well how do I know you weren’t lying to me last time! Nathan: (Pausing for a second) Because I wasn’t. I swear I am telling the truth! Haley: You know what I do know you. I know that you are jerk who plays jokes on innocent people just to get a laugh out of it. And deep down I have a feeling I am one of those stupid kids who fell for it. Nathan: (Trying to find words to say.) Hales… Haley: Just go! Leave me alone! Nathan: No, Haley… Haley: I am serious! Go! Nathan: (Hurt) *Walked away and drove off in his car.*
Haley couldn't believe that she treated Nathan in this way. While her heart and her head were telling her two different things, she knew deep down that everything between them was a joke and nothing was real in their relationship. Although she wanted to accept it, Haley knew that she couldn't do that because of what had just happened back at the party. She couldn't make up her mind to choose between her heart or her head.
_____________________________________________________
After what had happened between her and Nathan, Haley went inside and took a shower. She then got dressed and went down to the café where she would work a shift or two for Karen. She was now waitressing the tables that were now being filled because a lot of customers were coming in. She took a quick break and sat down for a few minutes after she had served everyone.
Haley: *Sighed* Karen: Is everything alright Haley? Haley: Yeah…I guess. Karen: Haley I have known you for almost all your life and I know when something is up. Spill… Haley: *Sighed again* I am just having some problems right now. Karen: Like what? Haley: I started talking to that guy Nathan and… Karen: Nathan Scott? Haley: Yeah…. Karen: Okay. What’s wrong? Haley: Well he asked me to go out with him and I did, twice. I have been enjoying myself with him lately, but we got in a fight last night. Karen: What was it about? Haley: *Trying to hold in the tears.* I went to a party last night and one of the guys said that Nathan said some things about us. He told me that Nathan told everyone that I had had sex with him and that I was pregnant now. Karen: *Shocked.* He said what?! Haley: *Crying.* I know. I can’t believe he would do something like that. I should have known. But Nathan swears he is telling the truth about not saying those things but I can’t trust him anymore. Karen: *Hugging Haley.* I know it may be tough to see it but maybe he is telling you the truth. Has he not shown you how different he is from what you thought he was like before? Haley: Yeah… Karen: So maybe he has changed, there is a chance that your relationship was supposed to be a joke, but has he done anything to hurt you at all? Haley: Well I don’t know. If he did say those things then yes, otherwise he hasn’t. Karen: Okay, maybe after seeing what an amazing person you are changed his mind about the joke. Maybe he fell for you when you started dating him. You never know, sometimes people can change. I think you should rethink this situation through a little bit more before you end your relationship with him from something you don’t even know if he did. Haley: I guess you are right. He wasn’t the guy I expected. And he hasn’t broken it off yet, so maybe he has fallen for me as I have for him. Karen: So are you going to believe him? Haley: Yeah. Karen: Good. Do what your heart feels is the best for you. Haley: Okay. Do you mind if I go now? Karen: Yes, you have worked longer than you needed to. Haley: Thanks Karen. Karen: Any time. Haley: Bye Karen. Karen: Bye Haley.
_____________________________________________________
Haley left Karen’s Café and walked down to where she thought she might find Nathan. Her instincts were right for she found him at the River Court playing basketball. She walked up to the court without him knowing.
Haley: Hi… *Nathan heard someone behind him and turned around.* Nathan: Haley? Haley: I…I think we should talk. Nathan: Sure, anything. Haley: I thought about what we talked about earlier. About what had happened at the party. I guess I just felt hurt because I kind of felt that you were only dating me as a joke and knowing this might be true I didn’t want to believe you. It just hurt even more considering what Marcus did. Nathan: Marcus?! What did he do? Haley: Well he told me that you said those things and then he started kissing me *Haley winced as those words came out of her mouth.* and things would have gotten worse if Jake hadn’t stopped him. Nathan: HE DID WHAT!? I am going to kill that son of a b****! Haley: Nathan its fine. Nothing happened. Nathan: Why didn’t you tell me sooner? And it’s not okay! Haley: Because I was too upset about what you supposedly had said last night. Nathan: I can’t let this go! He tried to have sex with you! Haley: I know, Okay! *Haley starts crying* You weren’t there and that’s why it hurt me even more! *Haley’s tears turn into heart felt sobs.* I thought I would be having a good time with you and instead I was going to be raped by a drunk high school student! Nathan: Haley no. I’m sorry. *Hugging her.* I didn’t want it to be that way either. Haley: *Still crying.* I was scared Nate. I was scared that he would have gotten further and that I would lose you too. Nathan: You would never lose me. I will be there for you always and forever. Haley: Thanks Nathan. Nathan: I love you. Haley: I love you too. *Nathan leans in a kisses Haley.*
__________________________________________________
Haley and Nathan leave the River Court unaware that someone had been watching them the whole time. Lucas had walked down to the court hoping to practice some basketball but was surprised to see Nathan and Haley talking. He was even more surprised to see them kissing.
What’s this?! Haley never mentioned anything to me. This isn’t like Haley, I have got to talk to her about this later…

Here is my next chapter, hope you like it. Sorry if it is a little shorter than usual.
Chapter 7
Haley and Nathan drove down to the beach after they made up so they could take a walk and just talk. Lucas had followed them and watched as they walked hand in hand along the shore.
Lucas: How could I have not seen this before? I should have noticed. But Haley of all people should know what kind of a guy he is. I wonder how they started dating anyways. I hope he wasn’t playing a joke on her I couldn’t stand to see Haley get her feelings hurt. I am definitely going to have to say something to her about this.
Haley: I’m really sorry for thinking you said those things. Nathan: Haley its okay. I told you it didn’t matter last time which was about the millionth time. Haley: *Laughs* Sorry I just feel really bad about it. Nathan: Don’t be. It was just a misunderstanding and everything is fine now. Haley: I guess you’re right. Nathan: Just promise me we won’t let anything like this get between us. Especially anything that anyone else says about us. Haley: I promise! Nathan: Good. *He leans in a kisses her.* Haley: *Pulls away.* You don’t think Brooke and Peyton planned that whole thing with Marcus did you? Nathan: *Rolls his eyes.* I told you not to worry about it Haley! Besides are we going to let them ruin what we have? Haley: No… Nathan: Okay, do you want to grab something to eat? Haley: Sure. Mac Donald’s sounds good you know its just the most wonderful place to eat. Nathan: *Laughs* Oh yeah. I meant something better than that. Haley: *Giggles.* I know, but I couldn’t resist. Where do you want to eat? Nathan: I don’t care. What about you? Haley: Whatever you choose is fine. I don’t mind either. Nathan: Okay. Want to just go eat at a café? Haley: Sure, why not Karen’s café? Nathan: That’s fine. Haley: Okay. Let’s go.
Haley and Nathan drove down to Karen’s café and walked in holding hands, smiling.
Karen: Well well, if it isn’t Miss Haley James and Nathan Scott! Haley: *Giggles* Hi Karen. Nathan: Hello Ms. Roe. Karen: Please Nathan, call me Karen. Nathan: Okay, Karen… Haley: Can we have some menus Karen? Karen: Haley as a customer for once? Okay…here you two go. Haley: Thanks Karen.
Haley and Nathan sat down at a table and figured out what to order. Nathan laughed all of a sudden.
Haley: *Smiling* What’s so funny? Nathan: It’s cute how you twitch your nose when you think. Haley: Oh… Nathan: So do you know what you are going to order? Wait I already know. Haley: You do? Nathan: Let me guess, Macaroni and Cheese? Haley: *Laughs* Yes! Karen makes the best! Nathan: I’m sure she does, although I haven’t ever eaten here. Haley: Well all of the food is great. Nathan: Yeah I will just have a hamburger though I guess. Haley: Yeah that sounds good. I’m still getting Mac and cheese though. Nathan: *Laughs* Okay.
Haley and Nathan ordered their food and waited while Karen got their food ready. Haley and Nathan ate their food and then walked to the car.
Haley: I should probably head home. I have some homework to do. Do you mind dropping me off? Nathan: Anything for you Hales. Haley: Thanks. *Smiling.* Nathan: Let’s go.
Haley and Nathan didn’t do much but talk on their way to Haley’s house. Nathan pulled up by the curb.
Nathan: See you tomorrow? Haley: Of course! Nathan: Okay. Bye Hales. Haley: Bye. *She leaned in and gave him a kiss goodbye.*
Nathan watched her as she walked up to her front door and once he saw her go inside he drove off back to his house.
____________________________________________
Lucas saw Nathan drive off and he walked over to Haley’s house. He knocked on the door.
Haley: Lucas? What are you doing here? Lucas: What I can’t see you anymore? Haley: Oh no. Sorry. What’s up? Lucas: It’s okay. I just came to talk to you about something. Haley: Okay, what is it? Lucas: I just, I wanted to know what was up with you and Nathan. I saw you kissing at the River Court earlier. Haley: *Shocked.* Well we are just seeing each other. You weren’t spying on me were you? Lucas: No. I was just walking to go to the River Court and saw you two together. I was just worried. Haley: Worried? Why are you worried? Lucas: Well, it’s Nathan…I mean you know what kind of guy he is. Haley: Yeah I know. He’s the sweet guy who fell in love with me. Lucas: Fell in love?! Haley you can’t be in love with him! Haley: Yes I can. Who gave you the right to tell me who I can and can not date any way? Lucas: Yeah, but you don’t honestly think he loves you do you? Haley: Yes I do. What is that supposed to mean any way? Lucas: Nothing, I just think it’s odd that he just suddenly starting dating you. Are you sure it isn’t a joke on you? Haley: Maybe it was odd at first, but he loves me. And maybe it was a joke, but he said he wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. Lucas: How do you know that’s true? Haley: I just do. I trust him. Lucas: But you don’t know if he really does. You don’t know if this is just part of the joke as well. Haley: Why don’t you ask your b**** of a girlfriend. She would know better. Lucas: Brooke? What are you talking about? Haley: It was all her idea! And she has tried to get us broken up for a while now too! Lucas: Well I have to say I have to agree with her, he can’t love you. He doesn’t love you Hales. Haley: You don’t want me with him? So you want me to not be happy? You want me to break up with him just because you don’t like him! Lucas: Well yeah. He obviously is lying! Haley: No he isn’t! He loves me and I know it! And I love him too! Lucas: What!? How can you? You know what kind of a guy he is, he isn’t the guy you think he is! Haley: Oh I know what kind of a guy he is! He has been there for me more than you have lately!! Why don’t you go back to forgetting I even existed like before?! Lucas: What?! I never thought that! Haley: Well you never talk to me at all. You don’t give a crap about me and I know it! Lucas: Of course I do care about you. Haley: Then why don’t you show it?! Lucas: Hales…. Haley: No Lucas. Just go!! *Haley slammed the door on Lucas face, not believing she actually did that. Tears began streaming down her face.*
As soon as Haley got upstairs she grabbed her phone and called Nathan.
Nathan: (Jokingly.) Hey Hales. I just left. Do you miss me that much already? Haley: Nathan… Nathan: *Could tell something the matter.* What’s wrong Hales? Haley: Lucas, came after you left and he started screaming at me that I shouldn’t date you and I just couldn’t bare it anymore and I slammed the door in his face. Nathan: He did? Haley, don’t worry about it. No one has to like it, all that matters is that we love each other and that we won’t ever lose each other. We don’t need anyone’s approval for that. Haley: I guess you’re right I just can’t believe he could say that. Nathan: I know. Just let it go for a while then try and straighten things out with him later. Haley: Okay. Thanks Nate. Nathan: No problem. Haley: Bye. Nathan: Bye. Haley: I love you. Nathan: I love you too. *Haley hung up the phone and then threw herself onto her bed.*
I can’t believe that my life is like this. First I almost lose Nathan, TWICE!, then I lose Lucas! What is going on?! I love Nathan, I know that, but this is creating problems. I guess I should just do what Nathan said. I shouldn’t have to have Brooke, Peyton, or Lucas’ approval to date Nathan. He loves me and I love him and that is all that matters.
Haley finished up her homework and then slowly drifted off to sleep.

Sorry this is so late, but I finally wrote some more hope you all enjoy it.
Chapter 8
Haley woke up early the next day and got up to take a shower. She finished getting ready for school and her mom drove her to school as always. Haley went to her locker and got her books; just as she turned around she was face to face with Brooke Davis.
Brooke: What is your problem? Haley: What do you want Brooke!? Brooke: *Glares* Why did you do that to Lucas? Haley: What slam the door in his face?! Sorry to burst your bubble but he started the fight. Brooke: He thought you were his best friend. Haley: Yeah and best friends actually talk to one another which he didn’t do. Brooke: Well I guess you just weren’t very important then. Haley: I guess not, but it’s not like I care any way. Brooke: Why, because you have Nathan? *Laughs.* He doesn’t love you and you know it. Haley: How do you know that? Why should I listen to you any way? Brooke: Because I can make your life a living hell. Haley: Like you haven’t already. Brooke: Oh I haven’t even started. Haley: Well I guess I will just have to find out then. Brooke: Or you could just back off and stop seeing Nathan. And not talk to Lucas either. Haley: You wish. Brooke: Fine. If you want it that way then… Haley: Bring it on b****. Brooke: *Glares and walks away.* Haley: *Sighed* Oh this is just great. Nathan: *Walks up behind her.* What was that all about? Haley: *Groans.* Don’t ask. Nathan: Is everything okay? Haley: Sure everything is just great with Brooke threatening me and getting into fights with Lucas life couldn’t be better. Nathan: Why is she threatening you? Haley: Who knows?! Nathan: What are you going to do about Lucas? Haley: Frankly, I have no idea. I was going to wait until things settle down a bit and then talk to him, but it might be too late already. Nathan: I am sure if you mean that much to him he would listen and try and mend your friendship. Haley: Yeah, I guess I will just have to find out. Nathan: Yeah, ready to go to class? Haley: Yeah. *Nathan and Haley hold hands and walk down the hall to their first period classes.*
________________________________________________
(Down the hallway from where Haley and Nathan are.)
Brooke: Hey Boyfriend. Lucas: Hey Brooke. Brooke: What’s wrong? Lucas: Uh… Brooke: Oh, it’s Nathan and Haley huh? Lucas: Yeah. *Watching as they walked down the hall hand in hand.* Brooke: I can fix that don’t worry. Lucas: What do you mean? Brooke: Don’t worry. Okay? Lucas: Okay…? Brooke: Well let’s go we don’t want to be late for class. Lucas: Yeah. *They walk off in the opposite direction holding hands as well.*

Haley and Nathan walked into Tric to find Karen at the bar.
Karen: Hey you two. Are you ready for tonight Haley? Haley: Um I guess. I’m still a little nervous…. Karen: Oh you will be great Haley! Haley: Thanks, I still don’t know how you talked me into this Nathan. Nathan: What can I say…? Haley: Nothing. *Laughs.* Well I better go get ready. Nathan: Okay. *Kisses her.* See you tonight. Haley: Okay. *Haley walks off backstage.* Karen: So…how are you doing Nathan? Nathan: Life could be better I guess. Karen: I see…how are you and Haley doing. Nathan: Better now, I don’t know how to thank you for talking to her about it. I know she didn’t trust me but I really love her. Karen: It’s no problem I am just happy Haley is finally happy. I was getting worried about her before you started dating her. Nathan: How come? Karen: Well Lucas was always too busy with basketball and Brooke he never really paid attention to Haley. They used to be such good friends, they were like siblings. After he started basketball and everything he just never talked to her and Haley just closed up. I tried talking to her every day and she wouldn’t say much. She was always sad I have never seen a smile on her face since she started dating you. Nathan: *Smiled.* I didn’t know about that. I never really knew Haley before though. Karen: Yeah, I think that is what hurt her most that she never had anyone to talk to at school or at home. Nathan: Yeah, I am glad I met her though. She has changed my life so much. I just hope I won’t lose her again. Karen: I hope so too, I couldn’t bare seeing her hurting so much again. Nathan: Yeah well I better go I wanted to buy her some flowers to give to her before she performs tonight. Karen: Okay, see you tonight Nathan. Nathan: Bye Karen.
__________________________________________
Okay Haley breathe. You can do this. Just pretend you are singing for Nathan only. Just like before. But with about a hundred more people…ah I can’t do this. I have never performed in front of so many people! Oh no what am I doing?! I can’t do this!
Nathan: Hales? Haley: Nathan? Nathan: What are you doing? Haley: Um, I don’t know… Nathan: You aren’t nervous are you? Haley: Oh no I’m fine! *Smiling.* Nathan: No you’re not. I know when you are lying to me. Haley: *Nervously laughs.* I can’t do this Nate. Nathan: Yes you can Hales. I know you can. You will do great. *Smiling* Here. Haley: *Taking the flowers Nathan is handing to her.* Oh they are beautiful Nathan! *Kisses him on the cheek.* Thanks. *Smiling.* Nathan: Anything for you Hales. Haley: It was easy singing for just you but now there are at least a hundred more people… Nathan: Just focus on me. I will stand in the back somewhere so just look for me and don’t think about anyone else being there. Haley: Okay. Just hope I don’t choke. Nathan: You won’t. I should go so I can find a good spot. You will be amazing up there. *He leans in and gives her a passionate kiss.* Haley: *Smiles.* Wish me luck. Nathan: Good luck. *Walks out of the room*

Karen: How is everyone tonight?! *The crowd cheers* Karen: Well tonight is a very special night. Haley James is going to perform for the first time ever here at Tric! *The crowd cheers louder.* Karen: Now give it up for Haley James!! *The crowd cheers even louder as Haley walks on stage.* Haley: Hey everyone! This song is called Let Me Fall.
It's October again Leaves are coming down One more year's come and gone And nothing's changed at all Wasn't I supposed to be someone Who can face the things that I've been running from...
Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown Let me fall, even if I hit the ground And if I... Cry a little Die a little At least I know I lived, just a little...
I've become much too good at being invincible I'm an expert at play it safe, and keep it cool But I swear this isn't who I'm meant to be I refuse to let my life roll all over me...
Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown Let me fall, even if I hit the ground And if I... Cry a little Die a little At least I know I lived, just a little...
I wanna be somebody I, I wanna be somebody I wanna be somebody I, I wanna be somebody who can face the things that I've been running from
Let me feel, I don't care if I breakdown Let me fall, even if I hit the ground And if I Cry a little Die a little At least I know I lived...
Its October again Leaves are coming down One more year's come and gone And nothing's changed at all.
At first the club is quiet, then the crowd starts cheering. Haley smiles and walks backstage.
Nathan: *Opens the door.* You did great Hales! Haley: *Smiling as he hugs her.* Thanks. Nathan: I knew you could do it. You should sing your other songs too. Haley: I don’t know it was kind of scary up there. Everyone watching me. I know they liked my first song and the cheering made me feel great, but still. Nathan: They loved you! I am sure they would want to hear you again tonight. Haley: I guess I could. Is that alright with Karen? Karen: *Walks in* Of course it is! Haley: Hi Karen! *Smiling* Karen: *Hugs Haley.* You were amazing Haley. I had no idea. You should sing some more if you some other songs I am sure they would love it. Haley: Well if you say so. Karen: Are you ready now or would you like a break for a bit? Haley: Give me about fifteen minutes to get ready for my next one. Karen: Okay I will introduce you after fifteen minutes then. *She walks out.* Nathan: You will be amazing just like before. Haley: Thanks Nathan. Let’s go outside for some fresh air first it was really hot up there under the lights. Nathan: Okay. *They walk out to the back door hand in hand.* Haley: Ah that feels better. Nathan: Haley, I have been thinking about what you said about getting emancipated from my parents. Haley: Really? What are you going to do. Nathan: I think I will it will be good to get away from them. Haley: Yeah, but where would you stay? Nathan: I haven’t thought about that yet. Haley: I am sure you could stay at my house, just not in my room. *Laughs.* Nathan: Yeah I don’t think your parents would like that. It would be nice staying with you for a while though until I can find an apartment. Haley: Yeah, when are you going to go to court to get the papers for that. Nathan: This weekend. Will you come with me? Haley: Of course I will. Nathan: Okay. You should better go back it’s almost time for your next song. Haley: *Sighs* Yeah. Nathan: Don’t worry… Haley: Okay.
(5 minutes later…)
Karen: Did you all enjoy Haley’s performance? *The crowd cheers.* Karen: Good, well Haley has decided to play two more of her songs for us. *The crowd cheers again.* Karen: Everyone, Haley James!! *The crowd cheers louder than before as Haley walks on stage.* Haley: Thank you everyone! This next song is called Crazy Girls.
I’ve been behind on the events of the past 7 days I’ve been sleeping in my bed And missing you like sometimes crazy girls do
I’ve been hanging like a child onto this photograph of us It was taken on a bus across town the last time I saw you
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down, down
Well I can’t get my self together I’m soaking in the pain It’s ridiculous how easy it is to go astray When my focus ain’t right Sometimes crazy’s all right
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down, oh
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes crazy’s all right
Well I never thought I’d say I was in love with you again It’s funny how my life has come around to this And I’m crazy for you I do like crazy girls do
And now this whole world is going ‘round But it’s when you’re gone it really brings me down…
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance Only you baby keep me up at night Sometimes crazy’s all right, crazy’s all right
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again this whole world… ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance …is going ‘round Only you baby keep me up at night this whole world is going ‘round Sometimes
Oh, will you wait till I get back home again this whole world… ‘Cause I’m willing to give this another chance…is going ‘round Only you baby keep me up at night this whole world is going ‘round Sometimes crazy’s all right.
*The crowd cheered louder this time than with her first song.* Haley: *Smiled.* Thank you everyone. Here is my last song. It’s called Halo.
I never promised you a ray of light, I never promised there'd be sunshine everyday, I give you everything I have, the good, the bad. Why do you put me on a pedestal, I'm so up high that I can't see the ground below, So help me down you've got it wrong, I don't belong there.
One thing is clear, I wear a halo, I wear a halo when you look at me, But standing from here, you wouldn't say so you wouldn't say so, if you were me And I, I just wanna love you, Oh oh I, I just wanna love you
I always said that I would make mistakes, I'm only human, and that’s my saving grace, I fall as hard as I try So don't be blinded See me as I really am, I have flaws and sometimes I even sin, so pull me from that pedestal, I don't belong there.
One thing is clear, I wear a halo, I wear a halo when you look at me, But standing from here, you wouldn't say so you wouldn't say so, if you were me And I, I just wanna love you, Oh oh I, I just wanna love you
Why you think that you know me But In your eyes I am something above you It’s only in your mind Only in your mind I wear a I wear a I wear a Halo
One thing is clear, I wear a halo, I wear a halo when you look at me, But standing from here, you wouldn't say so you wouldn't say so, if you were me And I, I just wanna love you, Oh oh I, I just wanna love you
Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo Haaaa ha-ha halo
*The crowd cheered louder than ever as she finished her final song.* Haley: Thanks again everyone! *Haley walked back stage again.*
Nathan: *Walks into her dressing room* You were amazing up there Hales just like before. *Gives her another kiss.* Haley: Thanks Nate. It felt so good up there after a while. Nathan: I am sure it did. Haley: Let me change real quick then we can go back out to the club. Nathan: Okay I will wait right here. *Haley walked back into the dressing area and put on some pants and a tank top.* Haley: That’s better. Let’s go.
Nathan and Haley walked out back into the club and everyone cheered as Haley walked out. Haley smiled and walked with Nathan over to the bar. Nathan left Haley to go get some fresh air outside. He heard someone walk up behind him.

Chapter 9
Nathan turned around to see Lucas walking up behind him.
Nathan: What do you want? Lucas: For you to stay away from Haley. Nathan: Since when did you care?! Lucas: Since you started dating her. I know that you are dating her as a joke. How can you do that to her? Nathan: It isn’t a joke, I love her. Lucas: Bull nuts! Nathan: Just back off man. Lucas: No! I won’t let you hurt Haley. Nathan: The only one who has hurt her was you. After her fight with you guess who she called, me. She called me crying about what had happened. Lucas: Well you sure fooled her, but you aren’t fooling me. Nathan: I’m not lying I love Haley and there is nothing you can do about it. Lucas: Wanna bet?!
Lucas punched Nathan as hard as he could which caused Nathan’s mouth to bleed. Nathan wiped away the blood that was trickling down his chin and punched Lucas back. Lucas lunged at Nathan and pretty soon they were punching and shoving each other left and right.
Haley: *Walked out of Tric to find Nathan.* Nathan?!
She kept on walking through the parking lot until she came upon Lucas and Nathan fighting.
Haley: Nathan!! Nathan: Stay out of this Hales! Haley: STOP!!
Neither Lucas nor Nathan listened to her.
Haley: Nathan stop! *Haley walked up to pull Lucas away, but Lucas ended up pushing Haley out of the way. Haley stumbled backwards and fell to the ground.* Nathan: Haley! *He ran over to help her up.* *Lucas walked over to punch Nathan, but Nathan turned around and punched him harder than ever. He used all his anger to punch Lucas as hard as he could seeing as Haley had gotten hurt. Lucas stumbled back for a moment wiping away some blood.*
Brooke: Lucas!! *Running up to him.* Nathan: Leave us alone! Brooke: *Glares* What did you do?! Nathan: The bastard deserves it. Brooke: The only bastard is you. Nathan: Just back off Brooke! And don’t you ever threaten Haley again or I will make your life a living hell too!! *Nathan put his arm around Haley and they two of them walked away back into Tric.*
Brooke: Lucas what were you thinking?! Lucas: I wanted him to leave Haley alone! Brooke: I know, but starting a fight isn’t the answer. I told you not to worry about it. Lucas: I just can’t stand to see them together. Brooke: Don’t worry, just leave it to me. Okay? Lucas: Fine.

Haley was sitting on the counter with Nathan at her side. Nathan tried cleaning her scraps with some rubbing alcohol.
Haley: Ow! Nathan: Sorry. That was a nasty fall. I didn’t want you to get involved. Haley: Yeah, I will have the scab to prove it. I know, but I didn’t want you to get hurt. *She picks up a tissue that was beside her and cleans his lip.* Nathan: I already was, besides I am fine. Some cuts and bruises won’t bother me. I’m surprised Lucas took it that far though. Haley: He is just really angry, but that still doesn’t give him the right to start a fight. Karen: *Walking in from behind a door.* Are you okay now Haley? Haley: Yeah. Karen: What happened? Haley: Nathan was just outside taking a short walk and Lucas started a fight with him. Karen: Lucas!? Nathan: Yeah. Karen: I’m sorry Nathan. That usually isn’t like Lucas. Nathan: Its okay, I’m fine. Karen: You two should head out it’s getting kind of late. Haley: Yeah, I don’t want my parents to be mad. Nathan: Come on I will take you home. Haley: Good night Karen. Karen: Good night Haley. You were wonderful tonight. I was so proud of you. Haley: Thanks. Nathan: Bye. Karen: Bye, see you two soon. *Nathan put his arm around Haley again and they walked out to his car.* Nathan: I hope that fight didn’t ruin your night. Haley: It didn’t. Tonight was great besides that. Nathan: Okay. You really were amazing though Hales. Haley: I know that is the millionth time you said that. Nathan: *Laughs* Yeah, but I just want you to know how proud I was for you. That must have been hard since you haven’t been in front of a crowd like that. Haley: It was kind of scary at first, but after my first song I felt a lot better being up there. Nathan: How come you never told Karen about your singing? Haley: I don’t know. I just never thought I was that good. You were the first person I told about it. And the first I sang to as well. Nathan: Well you obviously thought wrong, the crowd loved you tonight. I’m glad you did it. Haley: Thanks. That really made me tired singing up there. I can’t wait to go to bed. Nathan: *Laughs.* Well we will be at your house soon. *Haley lays her head on Nathan’s shoulder and he puts his arm around her.* Haley: It really hurts that everyone doesn’t want us together, especially Lucas. I wouldn’t think he would fight with me and then start an actual fight with you just because of that. Now I have no idea what to do if he wants to talk about it again. We will probably be at each other’s throats again. Nathan: Don’t worry about them; nothing else matters except that we love each other. But just try avoiding him we don’t want this to get too out of hand. But if you have to just tell him how you feel about this. Haley: I guess you’re right. I just don’t want to fight with him anymore. It seems that lately everyone around me doesn’t care about me. My parents don’t pay too much attention to me since they are so busy with work and now I am fighting with Lucas. I don’t to lose him; he is or was like a brother to me. I hope we can just fix this, but I don’t think he will want to if I am still dating you. But if I have to end my friendship with him it’s worth it. Nathan: Well you have me and I am never going to leave you. I don’t want you to end your friendship with Lucas though just because of me. If you have to just try and talk to him about it if he still won’t stop then I don’t know what you can do. Haley: I will just have to end my friendship with him if he can’t agree with me. I know he won’t like it but if he is that good of a friend he would stop and would be happy for me. Nathan: I am sure you will figure out what to do. Haley: I hope so.
They drove up to Haley’s house and Nathan parked the car so he could walk her to her door.
Haley: Thanks Nathan, I am really glad you got me to perform tonight. Nathan: No problem. See you tomorrow. Haley: Yep, night. Nathan: Night. *They kissed each other once more before Haley walked inside.*
________________________________________________
The next morning Haley woke up to the sound of her cell phone ringing.
Haley: Hello? Nathan: Good morning sleepy head. Haley: Have you been calling me all morning? Nathan: Yeah I was trying to see if you wanted to go to breakfast. Haley: Yeah sure. That sounds great. Nathan: Okay, I’ll pick you up in half an hour. Haley: Okay see you then. Bye. Nathan: Bye.
Haley hung up the phone and went to get dressed. Just as she was finished getting dressed the doorbell rang and she went downstairs to answer it.
Haley: *Opens the door.* *Glaring.* What do you want? Lucas: Haley we need to talk. Haley: What if I don’t want to. Lucas: Well we need to, listen I am really sorry about last night. Haley: Sure doesn’t look like it to me. Lucas: I am… I didn’t mean for it to get out of hand, I was just angry. Haley: Well it did. You didn’t have to fight Nathan you could have talked to me instead so we can fix this and not gotten Nathan involved. Lucas: Exactly why we need to talk. I don’t want our friendship to end like this. Haley: Neither do I, but if you are going to be an ass about Nathan and I then maybe it will. Lucas: Haley, you know I don’t want to fight with you. I just don’t like seeing you with Nathan; I have seen how he treats other girls. Haley: Well I am not one of those other girls, he loves me. He wouldn’t do anything to hurt me. Lucas: How do you know that? Did he tell you that? Haley: Yeah. Lucas: Well how do you know he is telling the truth? Haley: I just do, I trust him. Lucas: I’m not going to like this but I will just have to deal with it I guess. As long as you are happy, it’s fine with me. Haley: Thanks Luke. Listen we can talk more later but I am going somewhere soon. Call me later? Lucas: Yeah. Haley: Okay, bye Lucas. Lucas: Bye Hales.
____________________________________________________
Haley finished getting ready and walked downstairs just as Nathan pulled up in front of her house.
Haley: Hey! *Giving him a kiss.* Nathan: Hey Hales. Ready to go? Haley: Yeah. You know Lucas stopped by not too long ago… Nathan: He did? What happened? Haley: I don’t know it was kind of weird. He suddenly just felt like he didn’t want to end our friendship and if that meant he had to deal with me dating you then he would. Quite a turn around from last night. Nathan: Yeah, but that’s what you wanted right? Haley: Yeah I guess. How are you feeling? Nathan: I’m fine. Just a few bruises here and there but that’s it. Haley: Okay. Just making sure. Nathan: So what are you going to do about Brooke now? I mean I don’t want her threatening you again. Haley: I have no idea; I don’t even want to worry about it right now. There isn’t that much she could do that would ruin our relationship; you said you didn’t want me to worry. And I told you nothing would change my mind about our relationship. Nathan: I know, its just bugging me that she has to be so b****y about it. Haley: Well that’s what Brooke Davis is good at. Nathan: *Laughs.* True very true. Haley: *Laughs* So you mentioned getting emancipated yesterday night. Are you still going through with it? Nathan: *Sighs* Yeah I think I am. It would be really great to be able to be on my own and not have to deal with my parents. Haley: I think it would be really great for you. When are you planning on getting the papers and all? Nathan: Tomorrow I hope. Haley: Oh okay, do you want me to come with you? Nathan: Yeah, but not when I tell my parents. That wouldn’t be a good idea. Haley: Yeah it wouldn’t. I don’t even want to know how your dad will react. Nathan: Yeah that is going to suck. I’m hoping to move out in a few weeks depending on when I’m emancipated. Haley: Well that’s good. *Nathan parked the car outside of the café and they went inside.* Haley: Hi Karen. Karen: Hey Haley. What can I do for you? Nathan: We just wanted to get something to eat. Karen: Okay, here’s a table over here. *Karen walks them over to a table next to the window.* Haley: Thanks Karen. Karen: No problem, I will come back in a few minutes to get your orders. *Karen walked off into the kitchen area.*
Haley and Nathan talked about Nathan’s emancipation while they ate and left to go to take a walk on the beach. Nathan took Haley home after that…
Haley: Bye Nathan. Nathan: Bye Hales. *They kiss each other good bye.* Haley: See you tomorrow. Nathan: Oh yeah can’t wait for after that. Haley: It will be fine. Nathan: I hope so. Bye Haley. Haley: Bye.
_____________________________________________________
Haley walked into her room and laid down on her bed. A minute later the phone rang. She answered it.
Haley: Hello? Lucas: Hey Hales. Haley: Oh hey Lucas. Lucas: You did want me to call you right? Haley: Yeah, of course. Lucas: Okay. We haven’t really talked at all. Anything new? Haley: Nothing really. What about you? Lucas: Okay. Nothing either. Haley: Wow we have very interesting lives. Lucas: Yeah sure…what were you up to today? Haley: Nathan and I went out to breakfast and went for a walk after that. Lucas: Oh…that’s cool. Haley: Come on Luke you said you wouldn’t make a fuss about it. Lucas: I’m not. Haley: Okay…how’s basketball? Lucas: It’s cool, some scouts are coming out in a few weeks during one of our games. Haley: That’s great. Lucas: Yeah if they notice me. Haley: I’m sure they will. Lucas: I saw you at the club the other night. You were really amazing. How come you never said anything about your singing? Haley: Thanks…I didn’t really want any one to know. I didn’t think I was that great. Plus I am shy around crowds even singing just for one person. Lucas: Well you were great. You should really consider try to make an album. Haley: Yeah that would be really great. Lucas: Well I kind of have to go. I’m supposed to pick my mom to take her somewhere. Haley: Okay. I will see you in school or talk to you soon. Lucas: Okay bye Hales. Haley: Bye Luke.
Haley hung up the phone and went downstairs to get a snack. She found her mom in the kitchen when she walked in.
Haley: Hey mom. Lydia: Hey Haley Bob. Where did you go this morning? Haley: Oh Nathan and I went for breakfast at the café. Lydia: You are spending more and more time with that boy. Haley: Nathan, mom. Lydia: I know I know… Haley: Can I ask you something? Lydia: Sure, what is it? Haley: Nathan wants to move out from his parents’ house but doesn’t have anywhere to go. Do you mind if he stays here for a while until he finds a place? Lydia: I don’t know…I will have to talk to your dad. Haley: Okay…well I have to go finish some homework. Lydia: Okay.
Haley walked back upstairs.
