Scrubs: Why does Danni change so much after J.D. f

At first, Danni is a pretty normal person. She's a bit odd but overall just like any of J.D.'s other Scrubs DVD. When J.D. gets back together with Scrubs SEASONS, how did she become a heavy-smoking, rude and obnoxious girl all of the sudden? I just thought Scrubs DVD t came out of nowhere.
